テレビ朝日系で、毎週日曜朝に放送中の「デジモンクロスウォーズ～時を駆ける少年ハンターたち～」の最終回が3月25日（日）に決まった。それに伴い、3 月18日（日）から最終回の2週にわたって歴代の「デジモン」シリーズのヒーローたちが集結し、クライマックスに華を添える。

最終回では、初代「デジモンアドベンチャー」の主人公・八神太一（声・藤田淑子）、「デジモンアドベンチャー02」の主人公・本宮大輔（声・木内 レイコ）、「デジモンテイマーズ」の主人公・松田啓人（声・津村まこと）、「デジモンフロンティア」の主人公・神原拓也（声・竹内順子）、「デジモンセイ バーズ」の大門大（声・保志総一朗）らが勢ぞろい。また、彼らの“パートナーデジモン”も共に現れ、それぞれ当時から進化を遂げて大活躍する。

今回の“競演”について、東映アニメーションの櫻田博之プロデューサーは「今回のシリーズは複数のデジモンハンターが登場するストーリーという物 語の設定なので、さまざまな少年ハンターたちが主人公のタギルやタイキの前に現れるのが魅力なのではと思いました。全シリーズの主人公が集結するのであれ ば、それにふさわしい舞台・ストーリーであるべきと考え、今回の『デジモンクロスウォーズ』のクライマックスに登場させることにしました。まさに『デジモ ン』全シリーズの主人公が集結するのにふさわしい舞台、ストーリーとなっていますので、ぜひご期待ください」と、コラボの意図を明かしつつ意気込みを語っ た。

「デジモンアドベンチャー」の主人公・太一の声を担当する藤田は「久しぶりの太一役ということで、ちょっとドキドキしながらスタジオに入り、画面 の中の太一や、あのころのキャラクターたちを見た瞬間、走馬灯のように当時の録音風景を思い出し、懐かしさで胸がいっぱいになりました。そして『デジモ ン』シリーズが長い間、友情や勇気、あきらめない心といったテーマをつないでいることに感動しました。またその世界に戻ってこられて、本当にうれしかった です」と喜びを表した。
