「ゲゲゲの鬼太郎」などで知られる漫画家水木しげるさんが８日、９０歳の誕生日を迎えた。

この日にあわせて、出身地・鳥取県境港市の「水木しげる記念館」も改装オープンし、記念式典で妻の武良布枝さん（８０）やファンらが卒寿を祝った。

式典で水木さんは、「鬼太郎」のキャラクターが描かれた特製ケーキのろうそくの火を吹き消し、「９０歳ぐらいになると人間としては別格で、特にしゃべることもありません」と、照れながらあいさつ。同館の庄司行男館長は「１００歳の誕生日もお祝いしたい」と話していた。

記念館の大規模改装は２００３年の開館以来初めて。今回、水木さんの若い頃の自宅を再現した「ゲゲゲの食卓」コーナーや、妖怪の人形２０体を配置した古民家のジオラマを新設した。
