Although a glimpse tends to be caught like an addition, many animation fans are just going to get to know the height of the quality of these works, and an ambitious trial.

ディズニー/ピクサーの映画ファンであれば、同スタジオ作品の劇場公開の際には、いつも本作に先立って短編アニメーションが上映されることを知っているだろう。一見はおまけのように捉えがちだが、これらの作品の質の高さ、野心的な試みは、多くのアニメーションファンの知るところだ。
これまでにアカデミー賞受賞作品の『ティン・トイ』や『フォー・ザ・バーズ』、さらに『マジシャン・プレスト』、『晴れ ときどき くもり』といった傑作が生まれている。こうした作品のスタッフから後の長編作品の監督も生まれるなど、映画公開タイトルに現れないもうひとつの見どころになっている。

7月21日に公開されるディズニー/ピクサーの最新作『メリダとおそろしの森』と同時に日本で上映される短編アニメーションがこのほど決定した。タイトルは『ニセものバズがやって来た』である。
タイトルからも分かる様に、『ニセものバズがやって来た』は人気シリーズ『トイ・ストーリー』からの作品だ。シリーズでお馴染みのキャラクター バズ・ライトイヤーがファーストフード店に置き去りにされ、フードのおまけのバズと取り違えられたこから起きる事件が描かれる。ウッディやバズなどおなじみのトイ達に加え、新キャラも多数登場する。

『ニセものバズがやって来た』は米国では既に公開されており、日本の熱心なファンに知られてきた。日本でも劇場上映されるかが話題になってきたが、いよいよ『メリダとおそろしの森』と同時上映というかたちで姿を見せる。
劇場上映の短編に『トイ・ストーリー』が登場するのは、2011年夏公開の『カーズ2』と併映された『ハワイアン・バケーション』に続くものだ。ディズニー/ピクサーがいかにこのシリーズを愛しているかも窺える。
