全世界で120万部以上の売上を誇る田中政志原作のアニメ『GON－ゴン－』が、4月2日(月)よりテレビ東京系ほか6局ネットにて放送されることが明らかとなった。

全50話を予定している。

原作は、1991年～2002年の10年間、『島耕作』シリーズをはじめとした人気作品が多く掲載されている「週刊モーニング」(講談社)で連載され、大ヒットを記録した人気マンガ。

恐竜ゴンが大自然の中で成長していく姿を描いた物語で、台詞・効果音を排除し圧倒的な描写力で表現するその作風は、世界十数カ国で出版され、国外でも大変人気が高い作品だ。

当時のナムコ(現バンダイナムコゲームス)が発売した格闘ゲーム『鉄拳3』(1997)に登場したこともある人気キャラクターであり、今回、10年の時を経てTVアニメ化されることになった。
